Eco-Jobs in the Cable Laying Industry

More-Money-with-Environmental-Jobs1We can all see the advancements which have been made in the telecommunications industry every morning when we check our e-mail from our phone. This attitude of expansion has moved into more areas of life than ever before. Specifically the advancements made in the solar industry are drawing more people into the field than in previous years.

The largest solar plant in the world is the Desert Sunlight Solar Farm in the California Mojave Desert. There are plans in the works to expand the project, but as it stands this facility produces enough electricity to power 160,000 homes per year. This is effectively equivalent to removing the carbon dioxide produced by 60,000 cars. The ultimate goal of California is to utilize renewable energy for at least 1/3 of its total energy supply.

This is just one-step toward a world that runs on renewable energy. Currently, there is a plane trying to encircle the globe that is completely solar powered. Over 17,000 cells cover the wings and the fuselage. The plane is globe hopping, but if the journey is successful then it could mean a revolutionary change in the way we travel. If they add Wifi to it, there will be a constant demand for electrical work and telecommunications on these planes.

If anyone doubts that renewable energy, specifically solar, can have real and practical applications to provide the world with the energy, they should look at Germany. Germany has the goal of running on 100% renewable energy by the year 2050. They currently have twice as much of their energy coming from renewable sources (wind, trash conversion, solar, water, etc…) as any other country.

All of these systems need to be able to communicate with each other. This is where the cable installation specialist will come in. Many of the systems, like those which convert trash into fuel, need to be able to be operated remotely, have their levels monitored, and send signals if any potential problems are detected. The system components need to work in fractions of a second. If one wire is flawed or improperly installed the lives of many who work there are at stake.

Solar systems that float and panels that are durable enough to serve as sidewalks are other ways in which the suns rays are set to replace the traditional solar panels. Each of these panels has to be wired and connected into an intricate network.

The special training to work with these systems should come naturally to anyone who has been working in the cable installation field for a considerable period of time. Working in one of these fields is a natural progression from working with cable communication systems.

With the world in danger from an overuse of resources, an effort must be made to use renewable fuels in place of the finite resources we have become so dependent upon. Behind each of these projects, installations, and plants is an electrical expert who makes sure that the hard working parts can communicate with ease.
