Job Description

Arcadis is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to be based in our Chicago, IL office to support our Field Services group. The technician will be responsible for the completion of field-based tasks consisting of:

• Groundwater, soil, and/or surface water sampling
• Oversight of construction contractors
• Management of non-hazardous and hazardous waste
• Collection of environmental data from air, soil, and water during remediation events
• Groundwater and soil remediation system operations, maintenance, and monitoring (OMM)
• Completion of small construction-type jobs such as concrete work and fence removal
• Local travel up to 90% with some overnight

Additional info:
• Valid Driver’s License (Clean)
• Be health and safety focused, and able to successfully work independently
• Ability to review, understand, and complete scopes of work with limited supervision
• Mechanical aptitude
• Excellent communication skills, computer skills, and time management
• Ability to accurately document work activities (i.e., detailed field notes)
• Willingness to work over 95% in the field; often requiring heavy travel
