IT Help Desk (In-house)

We are currently seeking an experienced IT Help Desk (In-house) to join our team in Great Neck, NY.

What you’ll do:

•Provide internal on-site Help Desk Level 1-2 support to dynamic technologically dependent 75 person law firm. Higher level support is provided remotely by an outside vender.

•Provide basic desktop maintenance support and troubleshooting, include the following, but not limited to: maintaining inventory, repairing or ordering replacement equipment, configuring new workstations, adding new users and removing old, setting network permissions, addressing printing issues (desktop and network), network connectivity, password resets, relocation of workstations, etc.

•Monitor and support scanning stations, fax server, and company owned phone system including issuing, training, inventorying, activating, programming, and swapping extensions, and resetting voice mail passwords.

•Provide some support for in-house proprietary database system, monitor automated processing failures (maintain log entries and user follow-up).

Our Ideal Candidate:

Education and Experience:

•2 years of experience in information technologies of which at least one year's experience in LAN, Internet/Intranet. Thorough knowledge of Windows 7, Windows 2012 Server, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Office Suite 2010+, SFTP and network protocols and services, knowledge of backup and restore procedures and data storage concepts.

Skills and Abilities:

•Strong knowledge of security concepts related to operating systems, networks, anti-virus systems, Practical experience in information security, SQL server, Firewall and VPN Connectivity.

•Good organizational skills, ability to work independently as well as with outside support vendors system consultants.

•Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and experience in configuring/managing network security systems (hardware and software). Initiative, judgment, creativity, discretion and thoroughness.

•Willingness to learn, flexibility and perseverance to carry out duties.

•IT background and knowledge on hardware network implementation. Technological Awareness – computer skills, including proficiency in information technologies. Communication – Effective communication skills in dealing with vendors. Judgment/Decision-making -Demonstrate sound judgment in applying technical expertise to resolve a range of issues/problems.
